Would You Live in a Cave or in a Treehouse?

I think living in a tree house is a better option than living in a cave since it's dark and scary and can never imagine myself living in a cave, a treehouse would be so much fun because when I was young I really wanted a treehouse but never got to experience it, I would be able to look at beautiful sunsets and be surrounded with nature .

Would You Rather-

Would you rather have a life size robot or a jet pack?

I would rather have a jetpack rather than a life size robot since I wouldn’t use it and it would take up a lot of space. A jetpack would be cool but also wouldn’t use it, I can sell it for lots of money or just take photos with since having a jetpack is a lifetime opportunity to fly and are very expensive to have .

Would You Rather Be Invisible Or Be Able To Fly ?

Would you rather be invisible or be able to fly?

I would rather be able to fly since it's a great opportunity to get away from things and be free. If you're late to school you would be able to get to school or events quicker since sometimes there’s traffic or technical difficulties with our car, it would be better for me since I would likely be late to things.

Would You Rather -

Would you rather be a dancer or a singer ?

I would rather be a dancer than a singer even though I am bad at dancing, dancing is a way to exercise and be fit. I really like how fun and active dancing can really get. Not only that dance is something you work hard for, something you put all of your spare time and effort into. Being able to dance sometimes to get away from things and really burst out your emotions and just dance in your own free time.

Would you rather spend your holidays at the beach in New Zealand or overseas ?

I would rather spend my holidays at the beach rather than overseas since I'm very lazy to even do ethier. I would just rather go to the beach here in Nz considering that perhaps it’s closer than traveling overseas, but the thing is I can’t because Auckland might still be in lockdown then.

What Would You Rather?

Would you rather have a wand with magic or a hand that can make magic?

I would rather use my hands to make magic because having a wand is a responsibility since if you lose it, it might not ever come back so if I had magic I would definitely be able to use my hands rather than a wand since I can have control over it and when I’m in need of something, having a wand is tiring to cast a spell having to say words that you may have to memorise.

Would You Rather -

Would you rather be the heroic lead in a story or the villain?

I would rather be a villain than a heroic leader in a story since you can get in to dangerous trouble and since everyone wants to be a heroic lead in a story I want to change the chapter and be a villain and get to wickedness or crime since I can come up with plenty of ideas to make inventions to manipulate others and make the story more interesting.

Would you rather teleport or straight into a video game or straight into your favourite TV Show/Moive?

If I would have to chose between teleporting straight into a video game or straight into your favourite TV show I would teleport straight into a video game since youcan play games that give you the opportunity to do things you never would be able to do in real-life and even also experience lots of excitement and fun again since being in lockdown.

Would you rather -

I would rather be stranded on a deserted island than stranded deep in a forest it’s because in a forest there would likely be wild animals and I would be lost because I have no clue on how to survive but definitely I would likely be able to survive only a few weeks in a desert island because of ways you can start a fire and cook fish if you would like to go fishing also be able to eat and drink coconuts.

Blackout Poetry

Today I did a fun lock down activity which was to create a Blackout poetry, we had to either use news paper for articles and outline words that would make sense to create a poem and then another poem within the poem you wrote, I chose to do mine on google drawings because I couldn't find news paper around my house, I did all the steps that I had to do and found articles online and had a great idea to make my topic about lock down I thought that doing the subject about Covid would be a great message to be sending out to people.

Comparing and contrasting the Ancient and Current Olympics

This week we have been learning about the Olympics , the Ancient and the modern. One of our activities was to tell the differences between the Ancient and the current Olympics and what was the same. We answered questions we had learnt about in an article. I also learnt about Greek Gods and created a poster of interesting and important facts, I chose Apollo the God of light and reason.

Boy On A Bike -

Today I have finished a reading activity about a boy (Mac) who wanted to fund raise for St Johns ambulance. He did this by biking through New Zealand with his dad, from the top to the bottom of the North Island. Here is a blog post about a list of what Mac researched for his trip and why it was important.

A Maggots Life Cycle -

This is a Maggots life cycle that I've recreated on google drawing. This activity was from a reading article about a girl who fell from the sky because her plane disintegrated. The girl (Juliane) had an injury on her arm that was infested with maggots. The maggots ate away the dead tissue from the wound allowing it to heal.

Tupaia's Famous Drawing -

This is a drawing I recreated from Tupaia made in 1770, Tupaia is a navigator and high priest from the island of Ra'iatea in the pacific islands. Tupaia could point out islands, positions, size and their reefs and habours more than 100 islands. Tupaia had a great relationship with captain hook who was a artist. Tupaia learnt how to paint and do drawing and this drawing was one of them but I've recreated it.

Argo Floating

Today's recent activity I've done on my reading was a task about how a Argo float cycle works and to talk about what it is .
A Argo float is a special device that measures the temperature and salinity of sea water.  The float is 1.2 meters long, it weighs about 40 kilograms and it's life span is up to five years. The Argo float collects data that is useful  for scientists, Oceanographers, Meteorologists and many others, its a device that is designed to be strong enough to descend to 2,000m below the surface of the sea.

Here is a google drawing I've created on the Argo Float Cycle.

My Sailing Experience -

On the 10th on May, the seniors of our school including myself got the opportunity to go sailing at Okahu Bay. Thanks to our sponsors St Johns Rotary and Yachting New Zealand for giving us this big opportunity.

When we arrived we met our instructors Holly, Robbie and Kim. We were told to find a person to be partner together with, then we all gathered around the sailing boats. The challenge was to assemble our own sails. We were only shown an example of what the boat was to look like.

Quite a while later with some help from our instructors my partner and I ended up finishing. We learnt some important names of parts of the boat.

After that we had a little morning tea break before we headed of to change into our togs, life jacket and swim suit .

Then we slowly headed down to sea with our sail. We were linked up to six boats with ropes and one of our instructors Holly had the front of the rope we did this before we left shore. Holly dragged us all behind her inflatable speed boat. We went quite fast and it was fun. We played games for a while and had the opportunity to sail with no ropes linking us to other boats.

We then had lunch, then we went back to sea and had a challenge to circle around two pink balls at two different places and play ball tiggy which was so fun. We sailed around for a while before we left.

Thank you St Johns Rotary and Yachting New Zealand

Diary Entry

Dear Diary,

The moment I realized why the little boy took my umbrella I knew giving it back to him was the right thing to do... my mum told  me too with her rolling eyes. I wish I could have my umbrella back, but as I walked away in the dusty dark attic I held in my anger. I'm feeling so much regret giving away my yellow umbrella.

When I turned my back with selfishness and anger I saw through the window where the little boy looked happy and cheerful. I tried feeling happy for him but the guilt I had stayed within me, when I was about to leave I saw the little boy run up to me and he hugged me . . . in that moment I felt like my darkness and selfishness had disappeared and left. I now realize I've been awful and manipulative and am now feeling happy and relieved.

Stations Of The Cross- Lupe

On Holy Thursday, the seniors of our school, including myself, got to recreate the stages Jesus went through before his death on the cross.

We had a regular morning tea and play but lunch was shortened to about 10 minutes one last practice. We had to go through 14 stages of the crucifixion of Jesus.

Everyone contributed in being in character when we arrived at our parish hall. We had Jesus, six soldiers, Mary and her friend, Pontius Pilate, Simon and his friends, Veronica and her friends, and the women of Jerusalem which I was a part of, along with two narrators.

We had a dress rehearsal that went well with only a few mistakes to fix.

When it was time for the real event we stayed in a little room with everyone and waited until our school arrived so that we could begin Stations of the Cross.

I felt confident and shy mostly when Jesus approached the woman of Jerusalem, which I was one of, because of people surrounding us I felt lots of tension from those who hated Jesus.

I think that the Stations of the Cross went better than expected and was fun and enjoyable to be a part of.

Room 8 2021 Class Treaty-

As a new year has begun we learn as seniors of our school we have to be role models for the younger ones so on our first day we made google drawings showing others how to be "A Great Classmate" for our Class Treaty.
